Paul Murphy

Paul T. Murphy is currently the part-time Director of Law for both the City of Lyndhurst and the City of Mayfield Heights, as well as Special Counsel to the City of Chardon. In that capacity he prepares all legislation, advises the Mayors, councils and administrations as to various aspects of public law, and represents the Cities in litigation and administrative proceedings.

In addition to his public practice, Mr. Murphy maintains a general private practice consisting mainly of business law, including litigation, real estate law and estate planning. He has litigated in all Courts in the State of Ohio, as well as various administrative agencies such as the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services and the Worker’s Compensation Commission. He has also litigated matters in various Federal Courts, as well as the various Federal Administrative Agencies.

Mr. Murphy has practiced law in Ohio for over 38 years. He has been in private practice for 25 years, most recently as a shareholder of Paul T. Murphy Co., LPA, and prior to that as a partner at Carbone & Murphy in Mayfield Village and an associate at Thrasher, Dinsmore & Dolan in Chardon. Before that he was First Assistant General Counsel with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District in Cleveland.

Mr. Murphy received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Villanova University, and his Juris Doctor from Cleveland Marshall College of Law.
